About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Financial professional to join our rapidly growing B2B SaaS company. The Sr. Financial Analyst will be responsible for a variety of core and ancillary responsibilities, which will evolve as the organization scales. Core responsibilities are expected to remain with the Sr. Financial Analyst indefinitely and include developing models, KPI analysis, forecasts and budgets, commission calculations, and other general Finance functions under the direction of the Director of Accounting and partnering with cross functional teams and senior leadership. Ancillary responsibilities will be more important for the first 6-12 months as the team remains lean during growth periods.

To thrive in this position, you will need the ability to translate complex financial data and concepts into strategic insights that inform business strategy. Strong cross-functional relationship building skills are essential, as you will partner with key stakeholders company-wide to ensure financial plans and analysis supports their department goals and the overall growth objectives of the business.

Role Expectations

Core Responsibilities

  • Modeling
    • Support the development of the budgeting and forecasting process, partnering closely with financial, functional, and business division leadership to ensure alignment with strategic business objectives and targets.
    • Check actual results against budget and forecasts and recommend corrective measures working with leaders in each department.
    • Partner with the leaders in Direct, MSP, and Reseller sales channels to develop, monitor and analyze models and forecasts to meet strategic objectives.
    • Identify and lead initiatives to continuously improve, automate, and scale forecasting and reporting tools, processes, and methodologies.
    • Collaborate with Marketing, Product, Sales, and Finance leaders to drive and execute both short-term and long-term policies to drive growth and efficiency while delivering a high return on investment.
  • KPI monitoring & reporting
    • Establish, monitor, and analyze SaaS and financial KPIs against appropriate benchmarks and identify trends to provide actionable insights for the business.
    • Prepare analyses of companywide ARR movement and develop insights into changes in ARR & SaaS metrics including new customers, product add-ons, product cross-sales, contraction, customer churn, LTV and CAC.
    • Develop and manage the forecasting, reporting, and analysis of company wide ARR in total and segmented by business unit, vertical and cohort.
    • Partner with PLG (Product Lead Growth) leaders to analyze, forecast, and report the growth metrics for the Product Led Growth motion.
    • Produce and compile financial reports and metrics to be used in content delivered to the board of directors, venture capital investors, and executive leadership.
  • Additional reporting and projects:
    • Perform margin and profitability analyses on product groups and business divisions.
    • Assist with special projects and ad hoc financial analyses and modeling requests.
    • Prepare data room files and due diligence requests for Capital Raises.

Ancillary Responsibilities

  • Support the existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement, automation, and scale within them.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgeted GAAP income statements, balance sheets, and statements of cash flow.
  • Create P&L expense accruals for month end close if necessary.
  • Assist with annual audit requirements as necessary.

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or related field
  • ~5 years of Financial experience, with a preference for recent experience at a scaling SaaS company
  • Expert Excel skills and financial modeling experience leveraging BI applications
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strategic thinking ability and experience translating analysis into actionable insights
  • Comfortable working with ambiguity and forecasting on new lines of business
  • Solid knowledge of GAAP and three statement financials
  • Desire to work at Series B - C stage startup and help create new processes and procedures to help lead the development of the Finance function within the company.
  • Assist with software tooling decisions, upgrades, and implementations as a necessary part of growth and scaling.

Salary: $90,000 - $110,000
