Compensation includes a base salary of $117,300.00 - $195,500.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.

Job Description

Cox Automotive is currently looking for a Senior Manager, Compensation Consulting to join our team in Atlanta, Georgia.

The Role:

The Senior Manager, Compensation Consulting oversees the development, implementation and maintenance of the company’s compensation programs for our Manheim business operations teams. They will lead a team of compensation professionals and are accountable for day-to-day consulting and support services to this group. This team will partner with the HR Business leaders to champion great labor practices that are aligned with the strategic goals of the company, comply with local, state, federal and country laws, and are rooted in market trends. The Senior Manager, Compensation Consulting will manage a variety of special projects to ensure equitable and competitive employee compensation, including non-exempt pay policies, job architecture and salary structure application, and operational incentive design.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of creative solutions on a variety of total compensation issues including the setting of appropriate base pay levels, market pricing, skills trends, offer analysis, job evaluations, and local incentive plans; provide guidance to group and local leadership on best practices related to plans and processes.

  • Lead projects related to the implementation of company-wide compensation programs and systems across the business, including the year-end salary administration process and bonus payouts.

  • Build and maintain excellent relationships with stakeholders and boundary partners, ensuring their needs are met and expectations are managed effectively regarding project timelines, deliverables, and any potential challenges.

  • Lead various annual reviews and evaluations including internal equity, starting rates, living wage, merit movement, position in range and other data analysis, as needed.

  • Ensure all compensation programs are compliant with federal and state applicable laws and meet organizational business objectives.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of both federal and state wage and hour laws, including FLSA

  • Provide coaching/mentoring for more junior level team members.

  • May perform other initiatives as assigned by department leadership.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resource Management, or in a related discipline and 8 years’ related work experience in compensation. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master’s degree and 6 years’ experience; a Ph.D. and 3 years’ experience in a related field; or 12 years’ experience in a related field.

  • Builds and maintains strong working relationships with HR Business Partners and key stakeholders.

  • Strong qualitative and analytical skills including manipulating data, querying, and reporting required. Includes ability to analyze and research compensation trends and partner with appropriate internal and external resources.

  • Self-motivated and driven individual that can work in a high performance, fast-paced team environment.

  • Knowledge of industry practices and understanding of compensation principles, concepts, and practices including compliance with state and federal laws.

  • Ability to interact with and influence senior executives to successfully deliver reporting results and recommendations related to compensation plan strategy, design or outcomes.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and data privacy.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft suite, including Excel, PowerPoint, Word.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A variety of experience with Hourly employees and/or Sales Compensation.

  • System experience including, business process design, reporting and data management within a HRIS database system, e.g., Workday, PeopleSoft, Cascade.

  • System experience within a Time and Attendance database system, e.g., UKG or Workday.
