Critical Start is a dedicated security company with the goal to cost effectively improve the security capabilities of our customers. While focused on security services, we also resell a limited set of security products. We tend to deeply engage with our clients and seek to understand their long term security strategy. With an understanding of a client's current security posture and long term strategy, we are in a great position to help them improve their security capability. We take a framework approach to security called the Defendable Network that influences everything we do. While we do sell various 3rd party security products, we are NOT a vendor management company. How is Critical Start different: Critical Start is 100% owned by employees that work at the company Company is a Woman Owned Business Enterprise (WBE) and Texas Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) The company has no outside funding, venture capital, or stock holders driven to generate profits at the client's expense We are only focused on security. Critical Start is a security company versus an IT company with a "security division". Our approach is focused on a framework we created to defend organizations against attacks versus using compliance as the best practice for effective security. We are passionate about security! A good example of our passion to improve security efficiency is the Threat Analytics Search Extension for Chrome that we have made freely available to our clients (and even non-clients). Take a look at https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/threat-analytics-search/eliokoocofjemjjohafbmhmgjmedomko. Companies often spend money on security because of compliance and recommended best practices. Spending money on compliance can sometimes help an organization pass an audit, but it doesn't address the underlying issue of building a network resistant to attack. Security budget should be spent to defend the network against attackers trying to steal information, disrupt the business, or embarrass the company. Our goal is to improve security while taking into account that each company is unique when considering target profile, number of security resources, budget, and user experience requirements. Security vendors create product roadmaps as a basis for overall improvements in products. At Critical Start we believe a Defendable Network starts with a security capability roadmap. Security capability involves much more than products - it is a holistic viewpoint that considers people, process, and configuration of the infrastructure. We listen to customers to understand how limited resources (people, time, and money) can best be aligned to meet business objectives. How do we do this?
