As Senior Manager of Program and Alliance Management you’ll report to the COO and play a key role in supporting our pipeline of AI enabled preclinical assets. You will work closely with program team leads to ensure effective management of our internal programs and will also be responsible for managing our alliances with external partners including Lilly and Genentech. This is a full-time position based at our San Diego, CA location.

Sits on key internal program teams and leads Program Management activities

  • Develops and manages timelines.
  • Works with the finance team to develop and maintain budgets.
  • Proactively and creatively contributes to risk identification and mitigation planning.
  • Supports cross-functional teams comprising members from diverse subject areas – including: biology, chemistry, CMC, and new product planning.
  • Clearly communicates program status to internal company stakeholders including senior management.
  • Contributes to a positive team environment that encourages trust, robust debate, and ensures clear transparent communications.

Leads Alliance management for current collaborations with Lilly and Genentech as well new collaborations

  • Manages collaboration with key partners to ensure goals are met or exceeded.
  • Coordinates activities of scientific and engineering teams working on the collaborations.
  • Interfaces with alliance partner leadership and participate in steering committee meetings as appropriate.

Requirements

  • 5+ yrs successfully supporting programs as Program Manager. Experience with small molecules is ideal.
  • Strong communicator with ability to synthesize complex information for a variety of audiences (e.g., senior management, board of directors, investors).
  • PhD in a life science related field required.
  • Strong understanding of the drug development process – especially for preclinical programs.
  • Able to think critically and demonstrate troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and communicate comprehensively to the organization.
