JOB SUMMARY, HOURS, and LOCATIONS

Reporting to the Regional Operations Director, the Infusion Medical Assistant is responsible for providing both administrative and clinical support to an IVX Health infusion center.

This position is considered Part Time, working an average of 21 hours per week. We are looking for an individual to work on Tuesdays from 7:30 AM - 5 PM and Thursdays from 10 AM - 7:30 PM and one Saturday every 4 weeks.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet and check-in patients, handle intake paperwork, and complete discharge processes.
  • Schedule and follow-up with patients for appointments via phone, text, and email.
  • Record medical histories and update provider notes as necessary.
  • Review charts and communicate with providers for order verification.
  • Prepare patient rooms for treatments and assist with drug reconstitution.
  • Take patient vitals and assist with injections and IV management under RN or NP supervision.
  • Perform basic phlebotomy and lab draws.
  • Document patient care in the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Clean and maintain clinic equipment, prepare patient charts, and manage medication inventory.
  • Perform finger stick blood glucose tests and quality controls.
  • Be flexible to work at multiple centers within the market as needed.

Qualifications

REQUIRED COMPETENCIES AND SKILLS

  • Enjoys interacting with patients, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Team player with ability to work in a fast-pasted environment
  • Experience and strong familiarity utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Proficiency in computer applications including practice management, EHR, Microsoft Office, etc.
  • Ability to take and record vital signs
  • Ability to prepare patients for infusions
  • Ability to administer medications and injections
  • Ability to monitor patients during infusions
  • Ability to document patient care in the EMR
  • Ability to order and maintain medical supplies
  • Ability to maintain patient records
  • Ability to answer telephones and schedule appointments
  • Demonstrates ability to adhere to honest ethical healthcare and business practices including abiding by HIPAA guidelines and respecting patients' privacy

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Successful completion of a formal Medical Assistant program, with an obtained certification
  • Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association
  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a medical office setting
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • Experience working in an Infusion therapy setting is a plus, but not required
