Senior Director of Technology
Cardiovascular care is often the #1 cost for health plans and employers, with the current fee for service model incentivizing providers to maximize volume and throughput at the expense of clinical outcomes and patient satisfaction. Karoo’s mission is to overhaul that system and improve lives by tackling this high cost of care while increasing patient success. Karoo deploys a value-based approach which combines a blend of traditional, guideline-based medicine at Karoo cardiology centers and state of the art digital tools. Karoo is backed by leading venture capitalists, including Panoramic Ventures and has near and medium-term plans for further equity rounds.
As a key member of Karoo’s management team, the Senior Director of Technology helps consult on and make strategic decisions. In particular, the Senior Director leads and makes strategic decisions for clinical technology solutions and operations. Karoo’s vision to provide innovative and holistically better care for cardiac patients is critically dependent on clinical technology solutions and their associated operations. Working with the CEO and clinical leadership team, the Senior Director researches, evaluates, chooses, implements and maintains needed clinical technology solutions (e.g., EHR, patient CRM).They also build, lead, and nurture the Tech Team. They evaluate, select and work with a technology partner organization to complement the internal team is another key element of the Senior Director’s responsibilities.
Responsibilities ● Lead technical strategy, execution, and integrations for systems critical to care delivery ● Evaluate, select, implement, and maintain key clinical technology solutions ● Own the performance of and report on clinical technology systems to the leadership team ● Working with the clinical team, identify and capture areas of opportunity and improvement by refining the solutions and how they work together ● Build and manage Team establishing and nurturing a strong, empowering culture ● Own and manage solution vendor relationships ● Establish, own, and manage relationship with technology resource partners ● Interact with clients and prospective clients on technical questions and issues
Qualifications ● Five plus years leading technology teams and managing large systems (in a healthcare setting is strongly preferred) ● Proven track record of leading and successfully managing large technology projects and solutions ● Strong fluency in managing SaaS and cloud hosted solutions ● Expert level technical knowledge and vocabulary ● Strong client presence and communication skills ● Experience building and nurturing a team ● Experience working in an entrepreneurial environment preferred ● Experience with electronic health record (EHR), patient CRM, health data exchange, cloud data storage and business intelligence analytic tools strongly preferred ● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
