POSITION SUMMARY

At CVS, we're setting out to create a developer experience that enables teams across CVS to quickly and easily deliver experiences into the hands of our customers, all at the scale of a Fortune 6 company! The CVS Web Platform will be leveraged by hundreds of engineers across our Retail, Pharmacy and Health Solutions business units who are building sites used by millions of customers.

We're looking for an experienced Senior Engineering Manager to lead a team responsible for building internal tools that enable stakeholders in product, design, and content to compose customer-facing pages across our business units. This is a new team at CVS and we need a strong technical leader who can work with a high level of freedom and autonomy, advocate for best practices, and can collaborate with engineers, product managers, designers, architects and leadership to build products that enable efficiency and agility for our business. This team is part of the Client Platform Engineering organization within DevEx & Enablement.

What We Expect of You

  • You understand business outcomes and drive technical solutions to help achieve our goals.
  • You'll set OKRs with your team and ensure the health of those with KPIs
  • You'll partner with leaders across engineering, business, and product to build a strategy and roadmap.
  • You'll keep an eye out for new and emerging technologies that improve performance, delivery, and the developer experience.
  • You'll hire and retain high performing, deeply technical engineers that care about building a great engineering culture.
  • You'll lead a team of front-end engineers as they build internal shared libraries for common, non-functional requirements common to all teams, as well as optimizing our build and delivery infrastructure.
  • You'll actively participate in the design and architecture process for new capabilities across teams.
  • You're a servant leader.
  • You can rally your team around a shared vision, and you know what they need to be successful.
  • You'll provide technical leadership, direction, clarity, and vision.
  • You're data-driven and can articulate the value our platform provides to engineering teams and CVS.
  • You coach and mentor team members and contribute to building a strong engineering culture.
  • You care about the mental health and well-being of the engineers on your team. You create a supportive and safe environment, building trust with your engineers.
  • You care about the career growth of the engineers on your team, and you'll provide them with feedback and help them to set attainable goals.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7+ overall years of software development experience either building web applications and APIs
