Position Summary

Senior Quality Engineer is responsible for the testing and verification of functionality for Pharmacy Eligibility applications. This position performs functional and automated testing of software changes to ensure quality and stability before changes are deployed to production systems.

  • Responsible for the overall test planning, standards, and procedures for assigned area(s)
  • Acts as technical or business contributor, to support the test design process and deliverables, using Requirement, architecture, data modeling, design, and Use Case artifacts as input
  • Contributes to business analysis by documenting test cases as requirements using Test Driven Development methodology
  • Coordinate and acts as technical contributor to support translation of architectural and design changes to impacted areas
  • Demonstrates understanding of the environment and infrastructure configuration in developing or reviewing the test design/test planning.
  • Provides risk and opportunity assessments on a project level, including end to end impact of changes.
  • Identifies automation and process improvement opportunities and implements on future project/release testing.
  • Identifies the need, valuates, and implements tools that support the testing process.
  • Recommends and implements new testing practices and procedures that are consistent with industry standards and practices.
  • Keeps abreast of technical changes and advancements in the testing field.
  • Coordinates the testing and implementation within a given area or across multiple areas.
  • Performs complex testing, according to detailed plans to ensure high-quality systems.
  • Provide testing estimates on assigned tasks and maintains those estimates using the proper QA tools.
  • Responsible for defining, developing, maintaining, executing, and validating test architecture and scripts.
  • Responsible for escalating project and release items (issues, concerns, defects) to the Manager and for communicating own issues, developing options to mitigate negative impacts to release schedule; assists the manager and team in understanding impacts of issues in other areas or own area of testing.
  • Proactively escalates issues, problems, status to Manager / scrum master and actively participates in meetings to address, research options, and ensure success and timely resolution.
  • Timely and accurate reporting status, defect information and metrics to facilitate accurate/timely reporting at a release level.
  • Provides expertise on applications and technologies to support project teams.
  • Effectively communicates the end-to-end testing results to the teams
  • Utilize accepted methodology & tools in a disciplined manner, which may include execution of key technical reviews at project gates/milestones.
  • Supervision Received: Receives general direction, primarily working independently

Primary location is Hartford, CT but open to hybrid work option in the nearest CVS office locations

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience in Quality Assurance and/or Software Testing
  • 5+ years experience in Test Automation

Preferred Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience on agile methodology
  • 2+years experience in BDD/TDD
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and support multiple projects/testing efforts, releases simultaneously
  • Proficient on testing life cycle and defect life cycle.
  • Knowledge of Healthcare / Pharmacy processes

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$97,335.00 – $201,900.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
