Responsibilities

Peraton requires Systems Engineers to support the Special Operation Command Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) – 3. This position is located at Stuttgart, Germany (SOCAF) and requires TESA approval.

The purpose of the Special Operations Forces Information Technology Enterprise Contract (SITEC) 3 Enterprise Operations and Maintenance (EOM) Task Order (TO) is to provide USSOCOM, its Component Commands, its Theater Special Operations Commands (TSOCs), and its deployed forces with Operations and Maintenance (O&M) services to maintain Network Operations (NetOps); maintain systems and network infrastructure; provide end user and common device support; provide configuration, change, license, and asset management; conduct training, and perform Install, Move, Add, Change (IMACs) services. The responsibilities and tasks associated with each requirement play a pivotal role to USSOCOM, the CIO/J6 organization, and ultimately the end-user who operate around the globe 24x7x365.

The Automation Engineer is responsible for the oversight, analysis, design, testing, and support of automation deployments within the customer environment. The Automation Engineer will create automated scripts and leverage automation & SIEM tools to deploy standardized and authorized configuration changes, software and patch deployment, and containerized platforms. The engineer will also use similar tools and various APIs to gather, analyze, shape, and report informatics through relevant and intuitive visuals & dashboards. Finally, the engineer will leverage data, tools, APIs, and best practices to develop and optimize automated workflows that will digitize manual processes within the operational environment, with a heavy focus on Microsoft PowerBI and related suite of products

Duties include but are not limited to:

  • Assists with the creation and management of automation scripts within a hybrid environment.
  • Analyze operational requirements for information and knowledge, and develop digital solutions that leverage existing data and user inputs, using platform-agnostic tools and APIs.
  • Identifies user assumptions and requirements to designs automation scripts to accomplish the tasks required by the user.
  • Uses industry best practices to develop user interfaces in PowerBI to ensure intuitive understanding of mission-specific information.
  • Performs – and automates – maintenance activities to support the existing catalog of automation tools developed.
  • Serves as the go-to person/mentor for questions as well as research related to automation scripting.
  • Mentors members of the team to be more effective in writing scripts and implementing

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years with BS/BA; Minimum of 6 years with MS/MA; Minimum of 3 years with PhD
  • 12 years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD TS or above clearance is required
  • DoD 8570.01-M IAT II certification

Desired Experience:

  • Preference given to candidates with demonstrable experience developing informational dashboards in Microsoft PowerBI.
  • 5+ years of experience developing, executing, and analyzing automation tests
  • 5+ years of Automation experience writing automation scripts.
  • Experience in translating business needs into tangible and intuitive reports and tools.
  • Experience consolidating data across a wide variety of vendor APIs and platforms.
  • Experience working in an agile software development environment.
  • Experience in understanding existing automation tools (through documentation and reverse-engineering), debugging and restoring functionality.
  • Knowledge of architecture of automation framework and integration of tools used for developing scripts and running tests.

Target Salary Range

$104,000 - $166,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
