What to Expect

Tesla is seeking a highly motivated and organized Program Manager, Learning Design & Business Planning in support of the Collision Organization internal and external learners. This role is responsible for road mapping and executing our organizational learning design and deployment strategy. The ideal candidate will constantly identify opportunities to make skill development logical and efficient, while also enhancing the employee experience.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop vision and roadmap for the collision organization instructional design by role and level for internal and external individuals, based on business need and forecasted impact with respective sub-projects and target timelines
  • Lead standardization and change control of career leveling matrixes, mapping of training to level for career progression, validation of skills by role and level, and alignment of matrixes to organization and employee performance metrics. Develop and design training updates related to validation and skill revisions/changes
  • Effectively collaborate with HR, Recruiting and Regional Leaders for standardization of job descriptions, job coding, business titles and act as the main point of contact for program updates
  • Interact with third party training providers for internal and external training offerings, and build business cases for third party training demand and resourcing
  • Identify KPIs to track progress and success, partner with Business Analytics to develop reporting suite for tracking and insights
  • Provide clear updates on program status and recovery plans at both working and executive level. Effective communicator across all levels of the organization: from hourly employees to executives
  • Travel to field, or operations offices as need
What You’ll Bring
  • Instructional Design Degree, Business Degree, or equivalent training development experience
  • 5+ years of experience in training industry, managing programs/projects, and leading formal/informal teams
  • Excellent leadership, communication, confidentiality of sensitive information, and interpersonal skills with a high degree of professionalism. Strong collaboration skills and ability to influence with key stakeholders
  • Evidence based decision-making skills, creative thinker with the ability to resolve critical problems quickly and independently, willingness to be onsite and hands-on, as needed
  • Solid foundation and practice in change management principles, methodologies and tools (i.e. Jira, Confluence, etc.)
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous and fast paced environment, must think on your feet, and love solving problems
  • Be a good listener. Understand that every interaction you have with your stakeholders can provide valuable data
