What to Expect

As a HVAC Piping technician with the new construction team you will have the opportunity to work on all phases of commercial construction: Skills in all areas of HVAC piping are not necessarily required. The job can and will involve a variety of piping disciplines and a strong candidate will be able to perform a variety of pipe fabrication and equipment installation activities.

What You’ll Do
  • Working as a team with the entire construction department, the HVAC Piping technician performs new installation of: Chilled Water Piping, Heating Water Piping, Heating Oil Piping, Pumps, Heat Exchangers, supports, racks, related panels and devices
  • Working on a variety of piping types: Copper, stainless, PVC, cast iron, carbon steel
  • Uses piping drawings, P&IDs, and shop/fabrication drawings to plan work scopes, install requested improvements, as well as troubleshoot and correct problems as they are discovered
  • Performs a wide variety of job scopes, from planning and execution to clean-up and material handling
  • Displays positive attitudes and practices good work ethics that reflects the mission, philosophy, and goals of the company
  • Complete tasks in a timely manner and provide feedback
What You’ll Bring
  • Must have a minimum of 1+ years of HVAC Piping experience as an apprentice or have attended a training program
  • Knowledge in using hand tools, aerial lifts and fall protection equipment
  • Ability to interpret piping prints and schematics
  • Ability to install piping and hangers
  • Ability to complete job scopes outside of normal core competencies as required
  • Strong working knowledge of job site safety with ability to thoroughly evaluate job hazards and complete pre-work task planning with an emphasis on identifying proper safety procedures
  • Ability to work in high elevation up to 80 ft. high
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills, along with the ability to interact with all levels of management; must have high degree of initiative, and the ability to work alone and effectively with other people
