What to Expect

As an Active Safety Engineer, your main role is ensuring compliance with FMVSS 100 series regulations and their ECE equivalents. This includes conducting and analyzing vehicle-level homologation tests for global markets, coordinating team activities, and collaborating with design, homologation teams, and regulators.

What You’ll Do
  • Generate and execute test plans focusing on FMVSS 100 series and ECE compliance
  • Conduct vehicle-level homologation tests in collaboration with global engineering staff
  • Schedule test tracks and prioritize resources for compliance with regulations
  • Configure, maintain, diagnose, and sign off test vehicles for safe testing
  • Conduct and coordinate homologation tests according to official procedures
  • Follow Tesla test plans to record, analyze, and report results, emphasizing FMVSS and ECE requirements
  • Coordinate calibration of data acquisition equipment and maintain records
  • Coordinate design and customization of test fixtures and sensors
  • Work on continuous improvement of Tesla vehicle-level active safety test procedures
  • Support development and validation tests in various engineering fields as needed
What You’ll Bring
  • Outstanding ability to multitask and coordinate programs, prioritizing FMVSS and ECE compliance
  • Strong data analysis skills with direct experience in FMVSS/CMVSS 100 series, preferably from Brake, ESC field set
  • Ability to interpret regulations and communicate effectively with stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience with vehicle testing on proving ground, while working on equipment example thermocouples, accelerometers, load cells, CMM, Link data acquisition systems and software
  • Understanding of measurement equipment maintenance and calibration
  • Proficiency in MS Office, JIRA, MATLAB & Adobe products
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent
  • Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel up to 30-40%
